Job Description:

The Lovett Deconstruction Crew Lead is the onsite leader and office liaison for residential home deconstruction jobs. Leading a typical crew of 2-8 deconstructionists who possess a range of experience from the very newest hires to team members with 10 or more years of experience, the job of the Lead is critical to the success of projects.

This position takes on the vital role of on-site supervisor delineating tasks, ensuring new crew members are working efficiently and safely while keeping projects on-track to meet deadlines.

Leading by example and working alongside the crew is an essential component of
this role. Not only does the Crew Lead take on the responsibilities of supervising all
worksite details, they never shy away from even the most difficult tasks.
Once assigned to a job, the Lead must quickly assess and comprehend scope,
acquire jobsite knowledge, develop thoughtful and efficient work flow, and delegate
tasks decisively. Continual communication and awareness of how to effectively
disseminate information to team members, clients, homeowners and office staff is
vital. The Lead is responsible for arriving prepared, setting the tone of the job,
establishing open lines of communication about scope change and safety while
modeling an even-keeled attitude and productive work pace. A Crew Lead sees the
job through to completion by staying open, flexible and making sure communication
to all is clear, timely and professional. As the main point of contact with all
contractors, clients, and homeowners, the Lovett Crew Lead embodies our mission,

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise 2-8 crew members on site taking into consideration varying levels of
skill and experience.
2. Continual and thorough communication with office staff throughout the day:
respond to texts from office or Project Manager in a prompt and timely manner, as
well as completing timely submission of company related paperwork.
3. In charge of tool prep and planning for the start of each day. Have tools and
materials on hand at jobsite for the day's work and plan ahead for future needs.
4. Maintain an inventory of tool and material needs for company van and for each
jobsite.
5. Set the tone of job everydayby greeting contractor(s), Project Manager/Estimator
and homeowners with a focused, friendly, and professional attitude Practice
active listening and make eye contact.
6. Attend jobsite walkthrough with the purpose of understanding full scope in a
prepared and professional manner. Ask clarifying questions as needed.
7. Greet the crew with a positive attitude and upbeat energy to set the tone for each day.
8. Perform daily tasks safely at all times with attention to site hazards including but
not limited to tool usage, asbestos, lead paint, fall protection and utility shut off
standards.
9. Continuously and proactively encourage safety culture with team members and
report accidents and injuries.
10. Participate actively in team-oriented culture including job site safety meetings,
daily stretches, sharing company/crew feedback, observations and ideas.
11. Deconstruct assemblies ranging from full houses to kitchens and shower
surrounds with attention to dust protection, detail and salvage throughout.

Skills and Qualifications:
●Enthusiasm and commitment to learn residential home deconstruction practices, Lovett values, and safety standards.
●1-2 years experience in residential construction/remodel or related field
●Strong team player with an intention for continual growth. Actively address gaps in
knowledge by asking questions and seeking training.
●Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a positive and lively attitude.
Education/Experience:
●1-2 years experience leading small crews, supervising teams
●3 years experience in construction or related field
●1 year of deconstruction experience preferred but not required
●Experience working in outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions
●Experience serving the public in a customer service capacity

Department:
Deconstruction

Reports to:
This position reports to the Field Operations & Safety Manager and takes instruction
from the Project Manager. The Crew Lead is responsible for supervising 2-8
deconstructionists on job sites.

Hours:
This is a full-time, 40 hours/week position. 8:00am - 4:30 with the requirement to be
at job starts 5-10 minutes early and ready to work by 8:00am.

Compensation:
The hourly wage for a Crew Lead / Deconstructionist starts at $26/hour increasing with experience.
